Welcome!

In my 15 years of experience as a therapist, one lesson I have learned from my clients is that people do the best they can with the knowledge and resources they have at the time. No one wants to feel depressed, anxious or stuck. No one wants to be in an unhealthy or stagnant relationship. You have probably tried to resolve your feelings or issues on your own and you feel discouraged. Now is the time to invest in yourself. I can help you gain new perspective, tools and motivation for healing and change.

About Me

Michelle Gomberg, LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker with 15 years of experience providing therapy to adults. I have worked in community mental health, a college counseling center and a private practice. I have a master's degree in social work and a master's degree in marriage and family service from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

I specialize in coping with trauma and related symptoms including depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. I also have a passion for supporting individuals through challenging life transitions and helping people to create and maintain healthy interpersonal relationships. I also specialize in couples therapy, including sex therapy.

My approach is compassionate and goal-directed and I draw upon Internal Family Systems, Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused and Behavioral therapies.

My role is to partner with you and empower you to make change, heal and achieve your goals.

"Michelle has been a pivotal person in my life for 7 years. She has helped me to achieve goals, set boundaries and gain success in ways I never knew possible. She is committed and truly cares about her clients."
